December 9 Newsletter – Pastor Bill

Christmas, it seems, was not found in the lights or the glitter, but in something else Jack didn’t have.
How about you? What is it you’re looking forward to this Christmas? I love the lights – it makes everything festive. I love the shiny things. I especially like the food – desserts and cookies!

December 9 Newsletter – Pastor Greg

God loves us and has given us so much. His greatest gift of all is His Son – given so that we might have eternal life. As we celebrate Christmas this year let’s remember why Jesus left heaven and came to earth. He came for us because He loved us and He wants us to be with Him. Christmas is only a few weeks away. Each Sunday morning one of our church families will read scripture and light the advent candles during our service. Our Sunday morning sermons will also be based upon the 1st Advent of Jesus. December 2 Newsletter – Pastor Barry

we have noticed as we have walked through the aisles of the stores how few, if any, nativity or Christian symbols are in the stores. It saddens our hearts with all the commercialism and materialism or the fear of offending someone with our Christian values for the season. At this time of the year let us all pause, reflect and remember: In the next few weeks we are in anticipation of receiving the best gift of all and it is free! These will be his royal titles: “Wonderful,” “Counselor,” “The Mighty God,” “The Everlasting Father,” “The Prince of Peace”. Christ our King! Continue reading

December 2 Newsletter – Pastor Bill

Thankfulness is a strange thing. The more we get, the less thankful we are. While many would see $8 as a place to start, others see it as a dream job. We hardly think about the opportunity of living in the richest most powerful nation on earth – while others risk their lives to get here. One of our problems is TV. The screen continually shows us stuff other people have, and we don’t have. Christmas is all about showing us lots of things we never heard of before, but suddenly we “need” them. Over thanksgiving, one cable station showed hour after hour of home buying shows – people looking for more and bigger and nicer. Our economy runs on desire! But God calls us to thankfulness…and contentedness.
